こんにちは。 
近年、英語が世界的なコミュニケーションにおいていかに重要になっているかは、すでにご存知の方も多いと思います。
英語ができれば、日本で外国人と話し、その国について学ぶことができ、世界中に友達を作り、仕事はもちろん海外旅行でも英語を使うことができます。
英語のスキルを持っていることは、幼児にとっても大人にとっても、今日では多くの状況において強力です。
…しかし、英語の学習には時間と労力がかかります。
最近の親たちは、子供たちが英語を学ぶことに以前より関心を持っていることに気づき始めましたが、多くの親は、英語の学習はもっと上の年齢、つまり小学校中頃から始めるべきだと考えています。
これは間違っていると思います。
英語を聞き始める年齢が低ければ低いほど、英語の学習は容易になります。人間の耳が新しい言語に慣れるには時間がかかります。
幼い頃（2～3歳）から英語を聞くことに慣れたお子様は、より早く英語を習得することができます。
もう一つ重要な点は自信です。 子どもたちが学校に入学して成長するにつれ、学校生活のプレッシャーを感じ始め、多くの人が自信を失い、新しい言語の習得が難しくなります。
私は自分の子供たちと英語で話していますが、妻は子供たちが生まれたときから日本語で話しています。
彼らが ２つの言語をどれだけリラックスして切り替え、両方を聞いて理解できるかがわかります。これは主に、幼い頃から言語に慣れているためです。
早く始めれば大きな違いが生まれます。
車、モンスター、円を描くことが大好きな、新入生の 1 人である 3 歳の男の子を教えるのがとても楽しいです。
先週から彼に英語の手紙の書き方をいくつか教え始め、私たちの好きな色について話しました。
若い人でも年長者でも、年齢に関係なく、できるだけ早く英語コミュニケーションを学び始めると、将来の学習がずっと楽になります。

Many of you know already how important English has become for communication globally in recent years.
Knowing English makes it possible to speak with foreigners in Japan and learn about their countries, make friends online all over the world, use it for work and of course when traveling abroad.
Having English skills is powerful in many situations these days, both for young children, and adults.
…But learning English takes time and effort.
I’ve noticed parents these days are more and more interested in their children knowing English, but many think that learning should start at an older age, around mid-elementary school.
I think this is wrong.
The younger a child begins to listen to English, the easier it will be for the child to learn in. It takes time for the human ear to get used to a new language.
Children who got used to listening to English from a young age(2-3 years old~) are able to learn it much faster.
Another important point is confidence. As children enter school and mature, they begin to feel the pressures of school life, and many lose their confidence, which makes studying a new language harder.
I speak with my little children in English, while my wife speaks to them in Japanese since they were born.
I can see how relaxed they are to switch between the two languages, and are able to listen and understand both, mainly because they got used to it from a very young age.
Starting early makes a BIG difference.
I’m having so much fun teaching one of our new students, a 3 years old boy, who loves cars, monsters and drawing circles.
Started showing him how to write a few English letters last week, and talked about our favorite colors.
No matter your age, young or old, starting to learn English communication as soon as possible, will make it so much easier for your future in learning.
